The question is whether these tools are being used with the same urgency for safety. Technology can reduce risk, but only if it is treated as part of prevention, not as a tool for assigning blame after the fact.
Because when a crash happens in a work zone, the consequences extend far beyond the vehicles involved. Construction workers are often just feet from traffic. Passenger vehicle drivers navigate unfamiliar conditions, relying on others to be equally careful. Families do not experience these moments as statistics—they experience them as loss.
