David Lockett, owner and CEO of Austex Fence and Deck, said this change has helped the company control costs more tightly as work progresses.

"We are running more efficient operations, and as work moves forward, we have better control over costs," Lockett said.

The common thread across these cases is the connection between field operations and financial data. AI delivers maximum value when it can analyze current operational and financial information simultaneously, rather than relying on outdated or incomplete reports.

As cost pressures in the construction industry continue to intensify, there is little room to absorb surprises discovered late in a project. A project may appear profitable until final reconciliation, which can then reveal unbilled invoices, cost overruns, or inaccurate WIP assumptions.
